For Kids ages 8 and older
Snorkeling can be fun, but frustrating if your mask leaks, fins do not fit properly or if the snorkel fills up with water. Learn the proper techniques involved with snorkeling in the comfort of a pool.
You will learn how to:
- Proper fit, adjusting & clearing your mask
- Clear your snorkel using two methods, the blast and displacement method
- Use airway control to avoid getting water in your throat or worse yet swallowing water.
- Shorties are available to assist you in comfort and warmth.
- Learn two different kicking techniques (dolphin & flutter)
- Learn to properly tuck dive and go underwater to get closer to the bottom to see more of the reef.
- Learn to properly equalize your ears to relieve the pressure and prevent discomfort in your ears while diving underwater.
- Safe tips on how to stay under longer and deeper
- We will show you how to become neutrally buoyant while you play underwater hockey, shoot torpedoes and swim through hula hoops
This is a great program for birthday parties and for those who are traveling on vacation. Enjoy the underwater world through snorkeling.
Once the kids are comfortable with the above steps, we will take them underwater on scuba gear.
They will learn:
- Properly flood and clear their mask
- Learn to equalize their ears to relieve the pressure
- Learn how to breath with a regulator under water
- Learn how to properly remove and replace te regulator while under water.
- Go on an underwater tour to feel comfortable with the scuba gear
- Learn how to maintain buoyancy.
Once all these skills are accomplished and everyone is comfortable in the water, then the children will go on an underwater adventure, play underwater hockey, go through hula hoops and play with our bubble machines and aim at targets in order to move them through the water.
Classes can be scheduled any Monday, Tuesday or Thursday night from 6:00-10:00pm. We can schedule a Sunday afternoon, but will need a minimum of 6 participants.
COST: $100.00per person and includes the use of all the gear.
